Here's my opinion up front: most expensive display-project mistakes happen before installation—during quoting, spec review, or the moment someone assumes the product in the search results matches the product in the requirements.
I'm the person who handles AV system orders for an integration firm. I've been doing this since 2019, and I've personally made—and written down—14 significant mistakes totaling roughly $18,000 in wasted budget. Some were embarrassing. All were preventable. I now keep a pre-PO checklist that has caught 40-or-so potential errors in the past 18 months.
